Sea Point: the best bit of Cape Town (we're biased)

Between Lion's Head and the Atlantic, on Cape Town's Atlantic Seaboard next to Green Point and Three Anchor Bay, Sea Point is one of the city's most walkable neighbourhoods. Step out of the house and you're minutes from the ocean, the Prom and a street full of coffee shops.

FAQ

Good questions

Can't find your answer? Send us a message and we aim to reply within 24 hours.

Ask us anything
Can I live at Howzit?

Yes, in a small way. The house has two rooms that are let either as private offices or as co-living bedrooms (one en-suite, one with a shared bathroom). Co-living includes a coworking hot desk. Stays start at one month, with a lower yearly rate on a 12-month contract; see Co-living for prices.

Is it really a house?

Yes! Howzit? is a house in Sea Point, not an office block, with a lounge, kitchen, garden, pool and braai area. It has a relaxed, homey, family-residential feel, with all the essentials for serious work.

Can I try it before committing?

Of course. Book a free trial morning (just ask when you book a visit) or grab a day pass and see how it feels. Weekly and monthly hot desks are there when you're ready to settle in. Staying longer? A yearly membership (12-month contract, paid monthly) costs R2,750 a month for a hot desk or R18,000 for a private office.

Can I use the pool and garden?

Yes, the pool and garden are part of the Social House for members and day-pass guests. We share the simple house and pool rules when you join.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. Bringing your dog is free for members on an annual (yearly) hot desk or private office membership. Everyone else, including day-pass, monthly and co-living guests, pays a pet fee of R95 a day or R950 a month per dog, and you look after them. Not at the house, in a meeting or off to the beach? Drop your dog off for pet sitting, from R120 an hour (R380 for a full day), even if you're not working here. On a yearly hot desk or private office membership (12-month contract, paid monthly), pet sitting for one well-behaved dog is free. Well-behaved means vaccinations up to date, friendly and house-trained. Please mention your dog when you book.

How does nomad storage work?

Send us an enquiry with what you'd like to store and your dates away. You drop off packed, labelled items at the house, we log them, and you collect when you're back. It costs R295 per bag or box per month, or R2,450 for the winter season bundle (up to 2 items, May to October). We confirm size limits and share our simple storage terms before you drop anything off.

Are the private offices available now?

There are only two private offices in the house, so get in touch to check availability and to arrange a viewing.

Can non-members come to events or run a workshop?

We plan to open many events to the wider community; join the events list to hear what's on. If you'd like to host a course or workshop, space hire starts at R450 an hour, R1,450 for a half day or R1,650 for an evening.

What are the opening hours?

We’re setting weekday working hours for launch and will confirm them when you book a visit or a pass. Private-office members can ask about extended access.
